Whenever I hear " land down under ", it' brings goosebumps up on my arms.

Either it reminds me of our plans and how much we love Australia or I've watched Nemo with the kids way too many times!

They wrote that song because they hated their experience here. I think they got put on one of the big trains to cross the country. Or perhaps thats what you meant?

Australia Lyrics

I don't know if I'm tired and I don't know if I'm ill
My cheeks are turning yellow
I think I'll take another pill

Praying for the wave to come now
It must be for the fifteenth time
I've been here for much too long
This is the past that's mine

I want to fly and run till it hurts
Sleep for a while and speak no words
In Australia
I want to fly and run till it hurts
Sleep for a while and speak no words
In Australia
In Australia

Praying for the wave to come now
It must be for the very last time
It's twelve o'clock till midnight
There must be someone to blame

I want to fly and run till it hurts
Sleep fpr a while and speak no words
In Australia
I want to fly and run till it hurts
Sleep for a while and speak no words
In Australia
In Australia

Ahhhhh, Australia oooooohh in Australia

I want to fly and run till it hurts
Sleep for a whie and speak no words
In Australia

In Australia
In Australia
In Australia

Very good (I'll even forgive you your 2nd choice, which is my least fave song of all time )

When our yellow envelope came thru, I kept humming a variant of that old Bob Dylan song 'Pity the Poor Immigrant', changed in my mind to 'DON'T Pity the Poor Immigrant'.

There's a Curved Air track called 'Jumbo' that's also quite appropriate.

Can't think of any good operatic arias/choruses about emigrating -obviously a gap in the market there?!

Anya.

No I didn't realise that's what the lyrics signified, and hence, no that's not what I meant!
