My piles are getting totally out of control
WOOD PILES THAT IS
Does anyone have any stacking tips as my piles are a bit unstable, to say the least, and i want to get them covered before the forcast rain on sunday.
Before you poms mock me, it gets bloody chilly in winter and we don't have heating or double glazing, or cavity wall insulation. Sod it, we may aswel live in a tent

I shall sit in the corner and dream of you hewing and sing a little song:
I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay.
I sleep all night. I work all day.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.
Mounties: He cuts down trees. He eats his lunch.
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping
And has buttered scones for tea.
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.
Mounties : He cuts down trees. He skips and jumps.
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars?!
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Mama (or Papa in later versions)
Mounties : He cuts down trees. He wears high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra?!
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
Yes, I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) ok-a-y.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day

Definatly keep it if you can though.....running a wood burning heater (even a slow combuster) is damn expensive.

Piles!!! I have all that to look froward to??
My bruv stacks his on a pallet (so they are off the ground and away from the termites) but the pallet is wood innit so that doesn't make sense!!
We have a wood heater too and we ended up chopping an old desk up to burn last winter cos we were so bloody cold

What's going this year then bookcase? dining table?? If Diane comes round to your house frisk her for her axe!!
Shouldn't you be out with your basket collecting twigs & kindling ready for the hard winter ahead. Don't forget to store the nuts
Have you got the Ugg boots ready, the thick doonas ready etc. temps beginning to drop we're no longer in the 30s, we're down to the 20s - time to getyour wood ready & your woodburner fixed quick!
