Just wondering if the Supply Charge will still have to be paid the same as the Service Charge on Water Rates has to be paid even if you dont use the water.

Rural zoned areas wont have this problem.

So recently relocated to Ontario, Canada and read a number of stories about how high Hydro costs were mainly due to delivery charges here.

Looking at my bills over the last 6 months, way cheaper than my bills in Australia by over 50%/60% per month.

Even with the discounts suppliers offered, it is shocking the high utility bills I received and not going to get any better.

Certainly does at the moment. I've dealt with customers who have turned their mains switch off but still have an active account and have to pay the supply charge.

That's a good point and at the moment I suspect that it will still have to be paid, but going forward, as more and more people go off-grid, this may have to change as it will become politically unacceptable
