Can anyone comment on the live music scene in Wellington please? I am mid 40's and into seeing live bands particularly blues/rock etc. I also play guitar passably and might like to get into / start a band when my family move there later this year. So I'd really like to know how active the music scene is.

I'd be interested in the folk scene, if there is one, Richard. Any pointers would be great.

My kids, however, would prefer rock gigs. Are there some good local venues for live rock?
