'Mums' - get in the mood for OZ/NZ
Hi folks
Just thought I would let you all know it is Mothers day on Sunday on this side of the world. So send your Mum a card to get her used to the idea. Or if you are a mum I think you should put your feet up and have a Mothers Day to get your kids in training for Oz/Nz.

I know Fathers Day is some time in September out there. When is Mother's Day?
If we time it right we could get 2 in one year!

It's today (11th). I suppose when we live there, we'll have to buy cards and keep them until March to avoid being in the dog house even more than now!!

Whitcouls (a large bookstore/stationery/card/music store) in NZ are definitely switched on to this - you can actually buy mothers day cards a month or so before UK mothers day so don't have to worry about tears because you couldn't get any cards and thereby 'forgot' UK mothers day!!
I've used Interflora's (www.interflora.co.uk) website more than a few times for sending flowers - it's very good & I highly recommend it.

Had a good one went to cinema to see Kangaroo Jack then pottered fround the garden centres to spend the vouchers given to us by the agents who sold us our house. Hubby did all the cooking and a double ER episode on the TV so I had a good day.
I actually send my mum a card on NZ mothers days that way she gets 2 mothers days. 1 in March from my brother (if he remembers!) and 1 in May from me.
By the way Shirley I posted that stuff on Friday should take about a week to get to you.

Glad to hear you had such a good day. Paul has been keeping an eye on the weather forecast since we came back and it looks like the weather has been keeping fairly pleasant really considering you are fast approaching winter and all. Will be interested to hear how you find your first winter in Chrstchurch. many thanks too for posting that info. Am looking forward to it and will let you know when it arrives!
