Mr Rudd, here's a great stimulus idea for you!!!
With the strength of the aussie dollar at the moment compared to most other currencies (especially the £ with rates as low as 1.95 this week!) I'm sure there will be many people either cancelling or delaying moving to Australia at the moment. We certainly are!!
Consider a new family entering Australia would likely be buying a house, 2 cars, some furniture etc and then hopefully finding work and paying taxes these families bring alot to the economy. We would be bringing £200-300k to the economy.
If the government had a foreign exchange facility which was covered by stimulus so that immigrants could get a value of around 2.40 to 2.50 AUD to the £ I'm sure that the influx of people would be massive!?
Any thoughts?

I'm all for that as I will be moving as soon as I sell my house here in the UK and will be bringing the collateral with me.
