Moving valuable items

Moving valuable items
Hi,
We are moving to Sydney in 2 weeks & I have a couple of diamond rings that I want to take with me. We are going via South Africa & because of the high crime rate there, I am loathe to take them in my luggage.
Our removals firm, Crown, also advise not to pack valuables with the rest of the shipment.
Can anyone give me any advice on the safest way to get them to our new home?
