Default Moving from UK TO Australia ?

Hello,my partner has recently had his permanet spouse visa granted. We are currently in the uk,and he is immigrating to australia in early January. Our question is does he have to inform anyone in the uk that he is leaving permantely,we know he has to let the government know but is there anyone else ? Or is there anything in particular he has to do before he leaves ?

Hope this makes sense thanks for reading

He doesn't HAVE to tell anyone, including the government!
However if he tells the tax office then he may get a refund of some of this year's taxes. If he receives any benefits its a good idea to tell the issuer - stuff like Child Benefit i mean - otherwise he may have to repay it later.
There are others like Council Tax which are a good idea too.

Have a look at the links in this thread, lots of pre-move info here

Parents?

As the previous poster said, tell the tax people you are not longer working for the rest of the financial year by filling out a form and asking for the tax you've overpaid to be refunded.
