Moving to Perth soon

I am 32 lad moving to Perth shortly, I am hoping if someone can give me a bit of advice.

Where is the best place to live? I like to have a good social life, I also like to play rugby out there, any good rugby clubs in Perth. I am hoping it will be easy to find friends out there.

Hi Lee

How did you get on In Perth? Where about did you end up living? I'm moving there myself in about 3 weeks time and also have no idea where to live. How did you get on meeting people? I'm unsure whether to go into a hostel for a couple of weeks to look for somewhere more permenant. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for the reply, i dont really want to be around all the backpackers in the long run, i was just wondering if it would be the best way to go while i looked for a room to rent in an area i liked, or just try and book a room in a house for a month or so and hope its ok. I'm not sure how easy it would be to meet people outside of a hostel though thats why i was thinking of that option. Ideally i'd like to stay in a decent area not a run down dodgy place, no offence to anyone, but all places have them. I'd like to be close enough to some bars, pubs and the beach if possible.
Just for a reference how far is Joondalup to Nothbridge and how long to travel it, i have looked on a map but just wanted a real idea.

Cheers Alba

25 mins on the traain to the city.

Scarborough is good for the beach, few pubs there, alot of British n irish, but shit for transport.

Joondalup is where the more settled British live thats why Im moving there, got a few pubs n clubs.

Leederville and Subiaco are really nice places to live in the city, very lively and good atmosphere and close to the city centre and everything really.

Scarbrough and cottlsloe are the nicest beaches

I'm moving over to Perth on 14th Aug, am a bit older, early 40's. Am working in CBD, not sure where gonna live yet, but most likely will be NOR. Be good to meet up with any fellow new arrivals for a beer and a natter.

Cheers,
Chrisall
