Moving Out
Hi,
We are moving out of our rental in the next two weeks, any tips with regards to cleaning etc? We live in the Bayside Area, Thornlands/Cleveland/Orminston etc. We have to get the carpets cleaned, does anyone know of a reliable, good cheap carpet cleaners in the above areas, we have made no marks, no spils, always took our shoes off, but we will still get them cleaned. Do you have to get them cleaned on the actual day you move out, its just we fly on that day, so could be difficult? Also we live on a complex with a manager, how do you go about final inspections, bond repayment, its just the last day will be stressfull, leaving house, getting to the airport etc. Any advice or experiences? Thankyou. |
Re: Moving Out
My advice would be to get everything sorted out early, speak to your agent and make sure you know what they require of you. Book your carpet cleaner in advance and get a proffessional cleaning mob in, it will save you heaps of stress. Try and get it all done the day before you leave, including the final inspection, give em back the keys on the final inspections date. I have moved on average once every 5 months for the last 13 years so i have had some horror stories and also some pleasent experiences with agents, if you get on with your agent its normally ok. We were once told we were disguting by an agent because there were leaves on the deck!
Once your out and you have your bond back you will wonder what all the stess was about. Good luck Bob |
Re: Moving Out
i have had many rentals and my main tip would be to make sure that the garden is well maintained and thepaths / paved areas.
Also ensure the cooker is cleaned and the aircon filter if you have one. These are the main things they will check as well as the obvious general cleanliness. You can get the carpets cleaned anytime before leaving, the company should provide you with a receipt to prove when it was done which you can hand to the agent. Had enough of aus already? |

Speak to the management agency and ask them to recommend a carpet cleaner. Use that company and get a receipt. It may save you a lot of headaches later.

I realise that it might cost a few extra bucks, but if the Agent's Property Manager has any problems with the cleanliness of the place once you have left, then s/he knows exactly who to call............ and it wont be you :) |
