Moving from one state to another - CAR REGO, DRIVING LICENSE? (CE?)
So, when you move from one state to another, what do you do with your current rego and license, do they have to be transferred over immediately, or only when they expire?

Anyone had any experience of doing this? If say your current rego doesn't expire til 6 months later, do the NT give you that 6 months when you transfer across or do you lose it? Also, our licenses don't expire for years yet, do we just lose those years?

As far as I'm aware on the rego, you need to get the refund from the issuing authority (ie QLD in your case) but I'm not completely sure on that, as we just sold our Qld shed in part exchange for a new NSW car, so let the dealer deal with all that crap

Also depending on the state you may have to get a roadworthy certificate for the vehicle - I had to get one for a one year old car when I moved from SA to QLD. Check the NT regulations.
