Moving to Melboune

Hi,
We are moving to Melbourne in mid May and are wondering about finding temporary reasonably priced furnished accomodation close to Melbourne University. We are moving permanently to Australia and need a place to start with until we can find our feet. All advice greatly appreciated....Chris

Welcome Wordsmith, I have arrived in Melbourne 2 weeks back and I found it's convenient getting accomodation.

Well you can rent but the bond you sign is generally for 12 months. I think you can get for 6 months aswell after speaking with Real Estate agents/owners.

Good luck

Thanks mate, how quickly did you manage to get accomodation and did you park in a motel/hotel first.

Hi Chris,
Try www.realestate.com.au for houses, units, flats etc

Can give you various options as to where, how much etc

Other suggestion, use google to find Budget, Flag motels etc if that is more in your requirements. Should be not so bad for accommodation at that time of year. Maybe the Uni can make suggestions as I guess, by your need to be close to it, you have a family member going to attend.

Best of luck
