MOVING INTERSTATE ON SIR

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone has successfully moved Interstate on an SIR visa prior to completing the two year requirement ? Failing that has anyone switched State sponsorship to another State prior to arrival.

I ask in relation to a job opportunity, the job is still in a designated regional area but its in Queensland and I have been sponsored by SA

Any information greatly received thanks

thanks

Dave

Hi Dave

I did know hear of someone moving from SA to WA on the SIR but I think you need to get sponsorship or approval from Queensland.

I know Queensland had a Skills in Demand list for the SIR.

Hope this helps but I'm sure someone else may be able to give you more information.

I'm open to be corrected by Tony, Alan or George, but as far as I can see, since the requirement for State/Territory sponsorship at PR visa stage was dropped on 1 September, there's no problem moving interstate. Provided you stay living/working in regional Australia.

that's how i understood it but I think you have an obligation to inform (not ask) each state of your intentions.

Hopefully George Alan or Tony can confirm our thoughts!

You would be better off to ask the question on the immigration forum.

I am not aware of any visa condition obliging such notification.
