hi scooby
no we have done just that.
House went on the market the Friday before Good Friday, had enormous interest, 2 viewings every other day.
Accepted an offer 2.5k below asking but are cash buyers and don't want a survey.
We have the shippers arriving in relay style to give us quotes to send the stuff over to the in-laws in Victoria, the dilemma we now face is do we move in to rented furnished accomodation over here until the visa is granted or do we go to Oz on an ETA and sit it out over there?
Come on folks.....what do you think we should do?

Hi scooby
we're also doing the same. Moving into rented on 31st. Its chaos at the mo but hopefully worth it
We're renting for 6 months or until our visas are granted. We thought about going over before, maybe july/august but decided it would be better to be earning until we get over there as we don't want to dip into our savings too much. Anyway may not get Pr, where would we be then ?!
Good luck with the move

First thing to do is celebrate selling the house, what area are you in?
I would sit it out here to be on the safe side unless you feel confident there are no problems with your applications.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Good thinking guys, as Em says not to dip into equity, we are thinking the same, no hurry earn a bit more then have a 3 month holiday to kick off with when we get there,
I think it would be to much to do all at once,
Good luck Em on your visa's

Very sensible to accept offer, we think the property market will hit the fan big time,
Sit back, visa's are coming through fast these days,
Good luck,

just moved into our rented 3 bed house and it was alot of hard work stuff everywere and a few teething problems
like how the central heating works (the piolit light had blown out)
and the shower dont work (not switched on in the airing cupboard)
all sorted now just got to get rid of all this stuff we have didnt know we had so much gear
complete on our house on the 6th of May
then 6mths and were off
after all this hassle carnt wait to get there and get some sort of normality back in our lives

Hope it hits the fan soon, my husband is talking on waiting here a bit longer (his logic is houses still on rise here, houses in Uk should go down so hang on). If I have to spend one more summer here you will soon be reading "Dottys Divorce from Money hungry Australian Maniac".

Just send my passport off to get stamped and in the same boat - will probably sell the house ASAP (like others on here, not sure which way the property market will go so am taking the money & running!) then rent something funished 'til everything else is sorted. Not much to take with me so relatively little to organise shipping for, then it's off to Adelaide to seek fame and fortune - or just chill out in the sun!
Good luck to everyone
