Thanks for all the great replies - think I should have turned the question on its head and just asked where not to live !!

Having dug into a bit more Bracken Ridge seems to tick all the boxes being close to town but not too close, near to the coast for the cooling breezes and the school website looks good. If anyone has any further thoughts on this area either good or bad we'd love to hear them. :thumbup:

Also the plan is that I'll be over on the 29th May with the family following a couple of weeks later. Does anyone know of any self catering accomodation around that area so I can get a rental sorted out ?
