Default Moving to Australia - Travel Insurance

Wondering if anyone can help.
We are moving to Perth next month and will be taking a lot of personal items on the plane with us.
Does anyone know of a travel insurance company that does tailor made travel insurance. We only need the insurance our a 24 hour period in case our luggage goes missing as we will be carrying all our dvds clothes etc.

Any information would be a big help.

Thanks

Hiya
We are moving to Perth on Thursday (have been packing for days- shippers here tomorrow aaaagggghhh). We have used Walkabout insurance. The number is 0845 345 0327. The guy was really helpful. 17 days travel insurance (medical, lost luggage, delay etc etc) approx £100 for 5 of us.

Not sure but the insurance we have is one way insurance so different from the bog standard 2 weeks in spain type insurance and therefore more likely to tailor things for your circumstances. The guy as very friendly so no harm in giving them a ring to find out.

We used the same company for the Travel insurance when we came out and glad we did. I had to use it and they were wonderful!! I can highly recommend them.

Have a good trip,

It costs, but www.johnwason.co.uk will insure valuables. We had to take out a year's worth but got a rebate after we cancelled when we had proper contents insurance again.

You can get one way insurance via the UK Post Office travel insurance service, works out similar to the walkabout quote mentioned above.

Cheers

Yes, your right, very nice man. (Only covers personal items though, not business.)

I have the post office leaflet in front of me and they specifically state the offer cover for people migrating on a one way basis, I called them on the number given and they confirmed that they do provide this service.

Cheers

Hi Paul,

You're right, they do offer one-way trip cover. The link below should take you to the 'Create your cover' page, where you can get more details.

http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/p...catId=1500003#

As ever, there are conditions! In this case:

'If you are going on a one-way trip or moving abroad, we provide the same priced cover as our standard policy, but you don’t need to stipulate a return date. Simply choose how many days you want, up to a maximum of 17 days.'

Cheers,
GG

Thanks for that info. That's strange as we checked it out before and they told us they could not cover us one way and gave us a leaflett that stated that! Bizarre - perhaps it was an old leaflett or something...any way, thanks again and I'll check it out tomorrow.
