Hi all,
Posted in the welcome chat but was told better come to the aus specific place so I apologize if I've done this incorrectly!
I'm Adam from England! An old friend put me onto this forum when I asked about just what the heck I do when I get to Australia!
I've been travelling on and off all my life, most recently I was living in the Philippines working as a dive centre manager and instructor but i've worked in a range of jobs and industries including IT management, construction/landscaping, bar management, ski patrol volunteering and invasive species clean up - yes i'm all over the place haha!
Basically I'll be arriving in a few months with the hopes of exploring but mainly to find work, but it's hard to know where to start as there seem to be so many options all over. I'm really looking to be able to save money and maybe even find a more permanent opportunity to settle when I'm not flying around places. I am eligible for working holiday visa so that's no issue. Really looking forward to meeting some of you and any advice/recommendations/contacts you might have would be amazing.
Cheers all!
Adam

Most of the WHV are also all over the place
Unemployment is pretty low at the moment so hopefully you'll find something that suits - be advised that there are barista qualifications, bar work qualifications, construction site qualifications, etc so be prepared to have to sit a course or two depending on what the 'something' is.
Also, you may want to look at the requirements to apply for the second year visa if you are planning on staying longer than the year.
