Hi Murali

House rental prices vary considerably depending on where you live and the condition of the house.

The Eastern suburbs are generally the most expensive, the Northern suburbs are the least expensive (and also the least safe / nice IMO) the Western suburbs (towards the beach) are somewhere between the two pricewise. The Southern suburbs are pretty good value for money but far from the City.

Go to www.theadvertiser.news.com.au (Adelaide daily newspaper) and look under the Property section. Many of the houses advertised have pictures as well. I would suggest looking at a map of Adelaide first and orientating yourself as to where various areas are so you know whether they are in your target area.

You can also look for car prices in the Advertiser.

We live in the Eastern Suburbs and pay $ 1400 per month for rent. We plan to buy a house within the next few months and expect our mortgage to be slightly lower.

We pay approximately $ 120 per week for groceries for 2 adults

Electricity is approximately $ 40 per month

Phone Bill this month (including internet use and equipment rental) was $ 45. (We use pre-paid phone carsd for overseas calls which saves us a lot of money on our phone bill)

Hope this helps - Good luck with your move.
