Moving 2 oz
 

Decided to move to australia for definite on friday... booked tickets sunday, so here I am. I am moving on a working holiday visa for a year (fingers crossed the visa will be okay) and I go on the 30th November. I will be staying with family in melbourne, and flying to sydney. Any tips on things I should be doing before I leave England? I will open a bank account but not sure what else I should do?

Beat you there!!

We fly out on the 25th Nov. Then after 3 nights in Hong Kong, we touchdown in Brisbane on the 29th Nov. :D

We still got loads to do, and the house aint sold yet. I expect that to be on the market for quite some time, so PLAN B will be to rent it out. Fingers crossed, we buck the trend and get it sold. But we aint holding our breath.

Is it better to open a bank account before heading out, or can it be done when we get there? Plus, are there any banks that we should avoid. ie; banks that are in danger of crashing, under the current financial carnage.

Im also planning on trying out a Working holiday in aus this winter, anyone know where they're going to settle..

Its a working holiday - don't settle at all, move around and see the place.
