Re: Mothering Sunday
Hi everyone, why not try a small Australian owned business for your cards. We've been living in France for the last 5 years and always bought our cards from small online companies and had great service. We're moving over to WA in a few weeks time and want to support local businesses and have found this site
http://hipcards.com.au/
which has a great selection of cards for all occaisions. We will certainly be using it, as we've found cards available in Australia to be pretty limited (& expensive!!).

You are having a laugh are you not!! Said sites ' choice ' extends to 3 cards with a cost of $8.45 for 1 card to be delivered. My store has a much larger choice of UK Mothers day / St. Patricks day.
Not sure about WA but greetings cards in our retail sector (newsagency) offers a much wider choice than in simular stores in UK.

Re: Mothering Sunday
"Mothering Sunday" another commercial load of twaddle. Don't you think it's better to give something when it's not expected?
Not nice either for all those without mothers having this shoved down their throats annually.

Don't be daft. My mother passed on 14 years ago but I don't begrudge others sending their beloved mothers a card. How silly.

How many mothers do you have? As you say you're not sure about WA, I wouldn't dream of commenting on somewhere I haven't any knowledge of.
If, however, one plans and buys more than 6 cards (ie birthday etc) as most internet shoppers do, postage is FREE.

Re: Mothering Sunday
Mothering Sunday in the UK originated as a Christian festival, celebrated on the 4th Sunday in Lent. I think the original connection with mothers was that it was a time to honour Mary and it evolved into a celebration of all mothers. It is only in recent times that it has become Mother's Day in the more commercial sense. It is also known as Refreshment Sunday as the restrictions of Lent are relaxed for one day, so it offers a chance to indulge in whatever you have given up for Lent (if anything).
