MOT to import car

Since christmas things have been hectic, and the MOT on the car ran out without us realising. We are shipping the car (Wednesday) and wondered if we have to have a valide MOT certificate??

MOT's would be the last thing you would need to do, for it wouldn't mean a thing in Australia. You should worry about the customs import duty, having the car spotless for AQIS inspection, and then having to register the car in your state of residence. To get it registered you must have a safety/roadworthy certificate inspection done and have any work done to make it compliant with Australian law.
