There are holding costs, opportunity costs of capital employed, as well as monetary inflation. They very well may never break even in real terms in their lifetime.

I was back in Ireland for two weeks at Christmas and the economy is not doing too well. I bumped into some Iraqis in the airport at Abu Dhabi though and thinking about the problems they face put ours into perspective! Or we could be in Libya! |
