MORTGAGE
 
Any body got a mortgage in Australia while living in the uk recently? if so who did you go through? iv been advised that you cant do it anymore but im not 100% shore that correct.

Its very difficult to do it in reverse. Too much risk of fluctuating exchange rates and other risks.

A relationship manager at HSBC told me a few months back that they give mortgages to non Australian residents. But I've heard that before in the UK and when push comes to shove nothing goes through. Good luck.

Hi there, banks will still lend in this situation. If Australian citizen you will generally needa 10% deposit plus costs. If foreign national (including Australian permanent residents) then you will need 20-30% deposit plus costs.

Otherwise, lending and regulatory policy has tightened up but for the most part its business as usual. All the best! CV
