Default Morbid Question

Hi Folks,
I am flying my elderly father and step mother over for a 3 month holiday. I will be getting travel insurance for them but yesterday I found out that although my father is able to travel (at the moment ) he is apparently quite frail. Just in case the worst should happen I want to take out some kind of life insurance for him but I am having trouble finding cover for over 80's and for pre-existing conditions.

Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks

My mother came over and paid a bit of a fortune for her insurance- about 5-600 quid. Insured via SAGA who specialise in the elderly.

Definitely worth it for peace of mind, as she too is quite frail.

Hope you have good time.

£367.45 is what one policy is coming up with. TBH I have always found Saga expensive for my elderly relations, they appear to have a slipper market who arent too pc savy

Don't forget that they would be covered for hospital etc under the reciprocal health agreement.

Is it travel insurance you want or life insurance?

Thank you all so much for your replies.

I am looking at covering him for each leg of the journey and because he is staying for quite a long time I will take out a policy for the outbound journey and one for his return travel rather than one policy to cover him for the whole 3 month period. Most companies don't offer more than 45 days cover for his age and the 1 company that I found that would cover him for everything quoted just unde 2K. Although he will be covered for medical treatment while he is here I would like to take out a policy that will cover him for repatriation or burial should the very worst happen while he is here.

He is classed as a high risk because he suffers from angina, has had heart surgery, has diabetes, high blood pressure and suffered a stroke last year.

I'll let you know how I get on.
