Hi Soph, Gareth and Austin,

Good luck, keep in touch when you can, it's always good to hear tales from the other side.

Cheers,
Paul, Clair, Nathan & Jordan.

Not sure when we'll be back online again, so I'd just like to say so long, farewell, auf weidersen, goodbye....just for now anyway (my addiction to this site will have to be met in some seedy internet cafe )!!

we're currently in the middle of the headless chicken thing (and the only things we need to pack is the stuff that's coming with us on the plane yikes!!) so I'm having to curb my addiction a little

Thanks to everyone for their help in the early days and good luck to those still waiting, I hope we'll be able to look in between now and flying and I hope that the forum gets it's old lightheartedness back soon

See you on the other side

love sophia, Gareth & Austin xxxx

Hi Sophia

Have a safe journey and drop us a line as soon as you are able - I want to see another familiar face and meet the rest of the family.

Well all of the above really!!

So sad to be losing so many familiar "faces", although it gives us a bit of hope that we may all get there, at the moment it is feeling quite hopeless!

All the fun starts here Sophia, enjoy every minute of it, and please return to give us some of your valued advice.

Too sick with envy to write much. Am sat at my desk abusing my internet connection (yet again)- can they track this???

Good luck and all the best, though as it's Oz you are going to, i doubt you'll need it. I love Australia. PS. emailed me unc in Perth (he is a headmaster) with my worries and stuff and this is what he said:-

'hi nic and dean
......in reply to your worries about Oz you are absolutely doing the right thing.
there will be an initial settling in period as there would be anywhere even
if you had moved in england. regarding jobs i guess there is an element of
luck and how particular one is. if it is personal assistant, secretarial
work there are temp agencies that offer this pretty well immediately.
larraine (that's me aunty!)will also introduce you to a good employment contact.
as for social issues of crime etc they are here like anywhere but i still
think it is a very safe place.
so in answer -- yes you are definately right in wanting to come here. all
the good things you remember - the weather, scenery, open spaces, super
beaches, nice shops and overall less stress are still here and after having
lived in UK for 5 months i can make a fair comparison (he has also lived in Perth 30 yrs)

So hurrah to UNcle M!!

Good luck everyone- am going to hassle the emvassy again!

Baldbutts, I'll definitely be keeping the WW suit safe...don't fancy meself as Catwoman (although I have been known to get my claws out occasionally ) So don't anyone else think about nicking me picture!!

Just remember the good posts from the likes of Mike and Perth Helena and don't get too downhearted by the negative nellies....I will definitely keep you posted although I'm sure if I like it I will become just another "dreamer".

love sophia xx

Hi Guys,
Have a safe journey , and good luck in your new venture

Good luck with the move!!!
We've been over here in Adelaide for 5 weeks and its great.
We've been feeding the Kangaroos and Wallabies at Cleland Country park today. Its mid winter but has been 23 DegreesC today with a mild wind (that remind me our curry is nearly done and we've just taped The Bill - sad habits die hard).
Cheers

Best of luck Sophia

This leaving the NG for a bit to get out there and getting back on line once you have arrived, reminds me of the book about the Apollo 13 spacecraft mission, I've just read (u know Tom Hanks played Jim Lovell). Its the bit where they are in contact with the earth some 250,000 miles away until they have to go behind the moon where upon all communication is lost, only to come round the other side and ground control waiting to see if they made it by the hearing their voices again. Sorry lost the plot a little there, but they they were on a mission, just like us!

To infinity and beyond!

Try the Wildlife park at Cudlee Creek................fantastic place, well worth the
extra few k's drive.
