The changes will affect all applications that are assessed by the Department of Immigration after a date in October (as yet unannounced).

You receive points if your nominated occupation is on the MODL which is
current at the time your application is assessed.

No news as yet on the date of implementation of the new MODL ... but as and when it is announced it will be "Gazetted". I (and others as well, I am sure) will advise on this Forum as soon as more is known.

Gazette Notices re immigration matters can be seen at this website:

Best regards.

Hi Allan,

My PR application is in. Will the new MODL changes affect already existing applications for example, Oracle (IT) was on the MODL list and now it isn't...does this mean my application will be rejected ??

Thanks,.

The 5 bonus points for your MODL nomination is awarded at the time your application is assessed, based on the current MODL at the of assessment. This means that any computing specializations (e.g. Oracle) no longer on the MODL when your application is assessed will not attract the bonus points.

If you are counting on the MODL bonus points to push you above the passmark that your application will be assessed against, then you will most likely have your application routed to the pool (i.e. it is above the poolmark but below the passmark).
