Thanks

If they are unlocked then yes except for the Blackberry Pearl 8110. Even though it is unlocked and works in the UK it don't work in Oz.

We bought one for our daughter last Christmas unlocked so it would work here, but it doesn't.

Our Nokia 6300, Samsung Tocco and HTC Desire all work fine.

We're all with Vodaphone pre-paid. They all seemed very similar in packages so can't comment on the rest.

If you plan to move outside of a major city at any point then there is only one network with anything like acceptable coverage... and that's Telstra.

You're right there. We live 45 km outside of Perth in a relatively built up area and no service with Virgin. OH is with Telstra and no problem.

You can buy the Blackberry Pearl 8110 here in Australia, so it seems odd that yours doesn't work.

That's good to know.

I know. It has completely stumped us and the guys at the phone shops.

Google search has come up with nothing. It could be a faulty handest I guess or Blackberry have some sort of country lock or something.

Anyway we decided not invest any more money with Blackberry and bought her an HTC instead on contract.

It's a way better phone anyway.

My Telstra phone is supplied by work, we have 4,000 staff based all across Australia and the company will only use Telstra. They don't do that 'cos they are the cheapest.

I sadly have an 8110 as a work phone and confirm it works fine in aus and UK

I reckon you have a dud but better off without it.

Maybe I should advertise it on MBTTUK forum then.
