Are mobile phones more expensive to buy in Australia than in the UK ? i dont know wether to buy one here or wait till we get to brisbane.

I took my handset to Oz and got sim-only deal with Vodafone. But you can get the usual other stuff with them - pre-pay, contract, handsets, etc.
