Re: Mining sponsorship
It can be very difficult to get into if you don't have experience in the industry, even if you do sponsorship can be tough as lots of people who are already in Australia are wanting the jobs. If you're fairly specialized though it could be a different story.

What sort of job are you looking for? Do you have any mining experience?

Won't find many mines in Perth, unless you're looking for FIFO position? 4 weeks on 1 week off? Not sure how they do it. Living in Pilbara see lots who do 4 days on 4 days off, no holiday entitilement, but good money.

If they really need you they will bend over backwards to accommodate you.

Sorry I can only comment on people I've recently spoken to who work for Rio and a few other places up in Pilbara region. I quoted regular shift patterns they work. Obviously as you know this not to be true then they're wrong?

Re: Mining sponsorship
You can contact them directly, all have internet sites with contact details. Think you'd be looking for someone who went down the route of getting a sponsor, not aware of anyone who has in the town I live in. Think you'd be best approaching a migration agent and/or seeing if you pass skills test first.

Re: Mining sponsorship
I think there is an agency specialising in Mining jobs in Australia that can be quite good, dealth with them in a previous life! Downing Teal I think they're called.
Would prob be easier to speak direct with the companies directly but that can be nigh on impossinble these days! From what i can gather though is mining experienced people are being screamed for at hte moment!

Well you might be in luck. I wonder what sort of training they like for that though.
The reason I ask is because my husband is a mining engineer and it always seemed like they specialized them to do a lot of the blasting. There could be other people like yourselves supervising... I don't know.
I would have look here for jobs and take note of the recruiters names:

Unless you have a real specific skill they need well then you're only hope is to come into WA get soem experience and then try to get up there.
Mining is about who you know not your skills here.
I left my 130k 3 on 1 off Drafting job last year. It wasn't worth it.
