military service (reserve) proof ?
hi,
just about to put papers in - have served in UK Armed forces (fulltime) and put proof of service, discharge and rank on discharge proof in.
However, also serve in the Territorial Army (Commissioned officer). Havent resigned, as if I am unsuccessful I want to return to the UK and continue with the TA. What proof would be acceptable, or should I just leave it out.
cheers

You must have some documentation as to the fact you're in the TA. There may be
something similar in Australia that would be glad of your services once you get PR,
unfortunately no extra points for that.
As for the fact you haven't resigned yet, just say so and why.

Re: military service (reserve) proof ?
Hi Wannastay,
my hubby is a serving officer and when we applied we just recorded that fact in the appropriate box. 8 months later we forwarded a letter from his commander that he would be released from service to emigrate by August 2002.
We did this on advice from our agent who had experience of this situation before.
Hope this helps,
& Good Luck

Re: military service (reserve) proof ?
hi bones,
thanks for that - i ticked the box, but i served in the regular forces, resigned, then served in the TA. Only enclosed proof of the regular service, and never mentioned the reserves bit (completely forgot, as havent been to a TA drill night since Jan 01 ) - thinking about sending a certified copy of my TA commission scroll to them as an addendum - hope this should be ok
thanks for the advice though bones......
