miles from where in brisbane !!!!

can anyone please help. we are moving in june/july this year and want to be no more than a 20 drive from southport. We have been looking at maps and stuff but its hard to get a proper idea of distance. We need to be in a suburb with a primary school and a secondary school. We dont want to be to far from brissy for work reasons.

thanks

Anywhere from Southport up to Coomera. Lots of suburbs in that area have both schools - Pacific Pines, Helensvale, Oxenford, are north (ish) of Southport but within distance, Upper Coomera is the furthest away - should still do it in 20 mins though. Other ones - but a bit further from Brissie you have Benowa, Nerang, Carrara (the last two personally I wouldn't but each to his own) and Robina. Any further south, you will still get to Southport in 20 mins (depending on when you want to get there) but obviously they are further still from Brissie.

Hi, We live in Ormeau, which is about 1/2 way between Gold Coast and Brisbane, approx. 20-25 minutes to Southport and about 40 minutes to Brisbane.

Hi, if you want the surf beaches, then closest would be down at surfers paradise/broadbeach, about 25-30 minutes away. If you just want somewhere for the kids to paddle, then Jacobs Well is really nice, about 10 minutes from Ormeau. Jacobs Well is a little seaside town, a lot of people put their boats in there and head across to Stradbroke Island. There a loads of picnic facilities there, bbq's, etc. Its a lovely little place to just chill out.

With regard to schools. there are a couple of primary schools here, but the closest secondary school would probably be somewhere like upper coomera, about 10 minutes away.
