Default mildest winter on record STH AUST

Here is a couple of Pictures of Dendrobium-Speciosum [TREE Orchid] this is a Queensland native.
I have owned this plant for 15 years and in that time it has flowered once, because we haved had such a mild /dry winter the plant has been in its element and you can see by the number of flower spikes it is enjoying the Climate change ....................... mm

Similar to up here MM, this is definately the mildest winter I can remember for many many years, its been positively balmy . Everyone I've spoken to has commented on how few cold nights/days we have had & generally how mild its been.

Hi Mrs DB , we still get cold nights and very cold mornings , due to our Desert proximity........But the days clear blue skies, by 10am warm balmy temps, it was 26 degrees today and its still winter .............. mm

Hi Mr Mover - that good old blossom on the almonds must look beautiful!

I bet you're all hoping for rain before spring starts!

Meanwhile UK has had so few days without rain we think August is actually October! (And I've had the heating on loads too!)

It's been similar up here during the day, last week we had a whole week over 25 & up to 30 degrees by the end of the week, although we have had some (very very much needed) rain the last few days. But in general it has been warm for winter - very few cold nights, mostly in the 8-12 degree range (which despite some peoples protests is NOT that cold ) & some even warmer. Coldest temp at our house this winter was 8 degrees which is way above the normal 3 or 4 that we usually get for a coldest minimum temp.

All up we have probably only had 2 or 3 weeks maximum of actual cold weather up here broken up into 3 or 4 day stretches at a time - & spread over 3 months thats not very much .

The almond blossum is beautiful, looks like snow when you drive up Short road.
The 50 Acres of "California Papershells " that Barry put in 2years ago have blossomed for the first time and look great, but spring is early generally means we will get a long hot summer
They are talking rain on Saturday ? nobodys holding their Breath........ mm

Well I think my landlord may have something to say if I got rid of his cooker, so I'll keep ours too
