Migration agent or not

Hi!

I work in IT as a database administrator and I am thinking of applying for a general skilled migration visa to Australia but I'm a little unsure about whether to use a migration agent or not.

Are there many people on the forum who have 'gone it alone' or do most go through an agent?

Hope to hear from you

Marie

Hi Marie!

My advice is If you think your case is fairly straight forward then 'go it alone'! as a lot of people on here do! but if its not, then maybe you will be better off using an agent. This forum is a good source of info and advice if you decide to do it all by yourself. You can get a lot of help from other applicants, and also from agents that give their time and efforts for free to help us through the sometimes stressful process of migration!

If you do decide to use an agent, then the ones that help us all here come highly recommended, eg. Alan, George, jaj, and others.

Good luck!

Hi Marie,
Unless you have trouble following forms, you don't need an agent. Being a DBA you should be pretty good at following instructions ! It's easy if you have an open and shut case. Have lots of work references to hand and don't forget you have to have your skills assessed before you apply for Oz residency.
Good luck
