migrating mums
hi,
i am a mum of three year old twins and luckly we have just been granted our visas - now the reality is sinking in and we are having debates about where to go - and how to do it. We are hoping to start off in a city probably sydney or brisbane because that would be best for work. However we also would like an area with plenty of mother and toddler groups and nice play areas for the twins. Does any one know anywhere?
Also anyone had similar experience, did you all go out together and just hope for the best or did one partner go out first would love to hear any stories about how you got from here to there
Thanks
Nicole

I am the mum of an 8 month old and we have just moved to Sydney (been here a week or so now). We chose Sydney because of the better work prospects too. We are still searching for the ideal location to settle in in the city so have just taken on a 3 month lease on a place in North Sydney to get us started. There is a website that is very good for info on all things kiddie: http://www.bubhub.com.au/ and also http://www.sydneyschild.com.au/home.asp (there is the equivalent of these for the other cities).

Hi Nicole
We live just north of Castle Hill and love this area. We have 3 children of 2, 5 and 7. Our local school is great, there are lots of different playgroups around and loads of activities for the kids - swimming, ballet, gymnastics, physical culture, little athletics, soccer etc etc etc. It's a semi rural area, but close to all the local amenities of Castle Hill.
Good Luck
