Migrate thru adopted Son

My uncle (from Hong Kong) has did some offence whereby he is prohibited to stay at his home town Hong Kong & Mainland China.

His immigration agent thought him to migrate to Australia ( Brisbane) thru "adopted son" channel , i.e he find someone (better still with blood relationship relative) who is above 18 , working & financially sound , adopt the person as his son , stay with them in Oz for more than 2 years & finally get his own PR.My husband fulfill all these requirements & my uncle approached us for help.

Need advises on :

1. is it legal to do ?
2. we do not know what actually he did wrong (guess must be criminal offence) what will be our liability if we agreed to accept his proposal ?
3. Any other alternative apart from this channel ?

Thank you for your time & help , hope to get your advise soonest , my uncle is right now on tourtist visa @ Melbourne.

Sounds a bit dodgy too me!! I'd speak to an agent or immigration lawyer before doing anything. There are too many things that don't make sense (to me) with whats been said.
http://www.iarc.asn.au/ might be a useful place to start.

Thanks so much, I am checking on iarc.asn.au website now ...

Sounds funny to me too , this uncle has been nice all the while & suddenly he came to visit us last week & seek our help.

Consciously , we will say no but his relationship with my in laws are close , thus letting us in a delima ..

Sounds incredibly dodgy, and probably illegal.

The first question I would be asking is why does he have to leave Hong Kong/China? And if he has done something that bad, would Australia want him?

And if his crime is political, and that's why he is being kicked out of China, then Australia will be even less welcoming. He may expect to spend lenghty periods in detention centres before being deported.
