I always use the term " Middy " in Qld, but I came from NSW into Qld , but quite a few Queenslanders use this too as well as pot - both are acceptable here in Qld - Middy and pot - both are used in Qld, so don't quite agree with that link

Not that I drink little measures as that - I have Pints ( which incidentally you can get if you drink Kilkenny, or Guinness in the pubs, they have real pint glasses for serving the Irish drinks in , and not your pretend pints- schooners)

Just don't ask for a stumpy lol . when we first came to Aus, years ago , my hubby went up to the bar and asked for a stumpy LOL.. the bar was in tears - I just pretended I wasn't with him !!!! ( getting his words mixed up - Stubbie, a small bottle of beer)

You can get these for beer and cider too - especially in the pubs, rather than 'trendy' wine bars

This is the exact reason I'm finding it easier to stick with wine.
