Anyone out there who is or knows of a midwife over 45 in WA who has sucessfully applied for a 457? I have a friend who may just want to move to Perth but is over that critical age for PR but would be happy with a 457.

And yep, she is aware of all the restrictions etc etc etc!!!

Sorry, can't help with the 457 bit, there are certainly lots of hospitals crying out for midwives though.

Try asking in the nurses forum on here as you may get more answers from there.

Don't rule PR out just cos you're over 45
I got PR last year at the grand old age of 46 (I'm in IT) throught employer sponsorship (special circumstances). If you have a lot of experience in a sought after area like midwifery, this is a real possibility

Happy with a 457? Perhaps but does she understand that if she doesn't get PR, she faces a one way trip home in due course?
