Mermaid Beach
Just wondered, any thoughts? Mermaid Beach?
Wants
1) Close to Southport/Broadbeach/Gold Coast Hospital
2) Quiet, but can get to bars and shops
3) Short term fully furnished accomodation for say up to six months
Do not want
1) Too quiet where you have to travel miles to get a beer
2) Retirement settlement
3) Isolation
Just wondered what peoples thoughts are, intending to settle near broadbeach/surfers/southport long term, would this area be a good start for say six months until we commit to buy furniture etc. Its just fully furnished rentals average around $450.00 per week, so pretty good?
Thanks for reading.
P.S. Just wondering, how long to drive to Southport from Mermaid beach?
Also, how much would it cost to get a taxi from Mermaid beach to say Surfers?

Mermaid Beach is a small suburb that runs parallel with the beach just south of Broadbeach. 2 roads run north / south along the strip - Gold Coast Highway & Hedges Ave - these roads have connections all along. Hedges is the most expensive address on the GC with many multi million dollar palaces, GC Highway is a very busy, noisy road. Our favorite surf club (Nobby Beach) is in Mermaid, which I can recommend also Mermaid Beach Tavern a soulless aussie pub on the highway. If you can find a furnished rental for $450 a week in Mermaid grab it because thats a bargin!!
Mermaid Beach to Southport hospital would be about a 25 minute drive.

Re: Mermaid Beach
Hi there
Mermaid is lovely, right on the beach, near everything as its very central. I too love Nobby's surfclub and mermaid beach surfclub is great too. I would definately reccommend Mermaid, especially if its not on the GC Hwy!
Good Luck

Re: Mermaid Beach
Right,
Firstly Ta all, Karma all sent to all, nice to get some replies!
Tough one this, want a fully furnished for six months 15 minutes maximum from Southport. Want two bedrooms, quiet, not too fussed on quality of furnishings, and there seem to be quite a few on offer in Mermaid beach?
Want to book it this end for one month with the option to extend up to twelve months one month at a time.
I know, fussy fl00ks but it keeps things simple. Any offers get them coming, probably be landing in October this year?
Holiday lets in Mermaid, quite a few.
