Re: Melbourne - where to go?

Cheers, Gail:D One quick and easy thing to do is visit the estate agents on a Friday as a lot of them publish glossy books containing all the properities that are for sale. Best ones to pick up in my opinion are Hocking Stuart and Buxton. Well worth a look while enjoying a coffee. |

You have had some great advice - I took 3 weeks in Melboune and I know there's alot I missed! I hope you can decide what to do in 4 days! Good luck Helinuk:) |
For those in the UK the Holiday program on BBC 1 is in Melbourne this Monday (Australia Day). Some Sky channels if you have them are also running a lot of Aussie programs.

You can get a ferry from Southbank down to Williamstown and back which would be one of my suggestions for what to do - great views of the bay, city and suburbs from the ferry. OzTennis:) |
Thanks again, some brilliant advice. We really feel like we are getting orgainsed now, with ideas of places to go and things to see. A few days ago I had visions of us arriving, just about finding our bearings and then having to go home. We are only in Australia for 2 weeks, so 4 days in Melbourne is all we could manage. All our family live in NSW but we really like the sound of Melbourne, not knowing anyone living there makes it very difficult to decide where to go as there is no starting point. I REALLY like the sound of the ferry from Southbank to Williamstown, Rialto Tower and the City Circle tram - touristy but practical!! :)
We're going to Sorrento to swim with the dolphins (or seals), just couldn't resist the temptation! I might be being a bit thick......but what does NJFOZ stand for, it's driving me mad trying to work it out. It's probably soooo obvious. Thanks again, hope I can be of assistance one day, I just seem to ask lots of questions, maybe when I'm a senior member...:lecture: Gail |
