Hi everyone, this is my first post - just thought I'd share my situation...

I'm in N. Ireland and my boyfriend is from Melbourne. We've been together for a year and I'm heading out there with him for nearly 3 months in November (never been to Oz before). All going well, I want to move out there a month or two later.

Every time I trawl the info sites on visas my head spins and to be honest I bury it. I've just done one of these trawls and am sitting here in tears as I find the whole thing so overwhelming. Have been told I'm eligible for Skilled Australian but would prefer to go for De Facto - can I apply for the latter from Oz or do I have to stay here and be apart from other half during assessment? (Think the thought of that's what's upsetting me so much to be honest.)

Feeling very lost and worried and would really appreciate some feedback from someone who's been there, done that.
