Melbourne rentals

Hi, we will be arriving in Melbourne 7 weeks from now, we want to rent in east Melbourne, possibly Nunawading, south Vermont, Wantirna areas, how difficult is it to get a rental. When we do a search there seems to be plenty on offer, is it realistic to secure one within two or three weeks.
