Off for a trip (and recon) in a few weeks anyone got any reccomendations for things to do and see. We are a couple with a 18 month old daughter and will prob be staying in South Yarra. Ta

Not in the city, but all within about an hours drive if you fancy heading East:
Yarra Valley wineries and a visit to Yarra glen for lunch.
Healesville sanctuary and see all the Australian wildlife etc. The bird show & reptile shows are excellent (and free)
Visit Olinda & Sassafras in the Dandenong ranges.
Puffing Billy in Belgrave or Emerald http://www.puffingbilly.com.au/
Feed the cockatoos, rosellas & king parrots at Grants picknick ground. Fantastic walks in the forest as well http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources/04_0208.pdf
