Default Meet the in laws

Hi all

Wish me luck,

I fly to Oz on Thursday for 3.5 weeks of factfinding around Brisbane and the Gold coast.

Also have to meet the prospective in laws to.

Any ideas of presents to take them.

TT

Marmite and tell them vegimite is better?
M&S Knickers for the mum in law? Thongs of course!
A Spanish straw donkey? An essential UK present item?

Cheers

When I first went over to meet the future family I took stuff that was light and easy to carry, and very English or British - that seemed to pelase them! Just t-towels with pics of English cottages, cards or writing paper, all very souvenir-type stuff, but I think they appreciated the thought as miuch as anything! In fact I was given similar things to bring back for my mum. If you live in a touristy area you should find plenty of inspiration in local gift shops! Kids like stuff like teddy bears dressed as Beefeaters or UK policemen. Both families now exchange calendars with pics of the respective countries at Christmas as well - and they are always on display both sides of the world, so I guess they must be an OK pressie.
Only problem I have now is that my fiance's 3 year old niece expects a present every time she sees me - so when she starts seeing me every few days that could prove expensive!
