Default Medicals vs Tattoos

Got our medicals in the next 2 weeks and I know you have to pay extra for additional blood tests if you have a tattoo, but what if we want another one??

Do we have it before the medical, or wait until after???

Surely they won`t check for extra ones when you enter the country??

Far as im aware, you must declare if you have tattoos, in not doing so, can result in a serious SLAPPING from Australian officials

HTF they can police it, beats me but

Id hazzard a guess its classed as being dishonest on your application

Oooo I was having HIV and the hep tests anyway as I'll be a nursing student so maybe that's why nothing was mentioned. Didn't say anywhere on the form though..??

The HIV is the standard test that everyone of age has to have.

Its Hep B that they blood test for if you have tattoos or piercings other than ears.

When I had my medical the doctor noticed my tatoo when he took my blood pressure and said that I would have to have the Hep B test.
Cost an extra £15 I think.

I have heard before that some docs ask about tatoos others don't.

As said before I don't see how they can do anything if you have one done after your meds.

In answer to you ... I would get them done before meds and declare them or wait till you get there. I wouldn't risk anything

Not quite. I have a tiny (4cm) tattoo on my lower back, husband has a chinese dragon on hhis upper arm, not exactly huge! We paid just to get it over and done with. Strange as we had our meds done in Brisbane 9 mths previously and the dr never mentioned the tat's!
