Medicals & ?problems

Hi all,
just got back from our meds.
I was initially paranoid about the chest Xrays - but they were fine.

HOWEVER! Hubby had glucose in his urine, so needed further blood tests, & is now worried about being diabetic!!

Youngest daughter was found to have a heart murmur - OMG!!
I know they're pretty common, but still a worry.
She's going to need an echocardiograph & cardiologist's report. Hopefully it will fall into the 90% of murmurs which are benign.

Hi Hazel
I work in paediatric cardiology, so hopefully I will try to reassure you too that most murmurs are innocent. How old is your little girl? Try not to worry till she has had an ECHO, if she is old enough, reassure her that the test is nothing to worry about... I wish you well, and hope it all works out okay..:)

Good to hear that - I have hypothyroidism which is vaguley similar in that it comes under the endocrinology umbrella and needs lifelong treatment. I've been fretting endlessly that it might damage my chances, so your post has helped ease the panic!

We had our medicals aBT 2 months back. Now DIMIA has asked for a revision of my wifes' medicals. Though we have not got the original letter. (this was conveyed by our agent y'stday. Has anyone been asked to undergo the medicals again. Will it affect our final assessment. Very worried.

Hi & thanks

we had Lana seen privately just 6 days after medicals.
ECG normal, & echo showed no abnormality- just a vibratory murmur which should disappear by puberty!

report gone to DIMIA, so now keeping fingers, toes & all appendages crossed that case officer is happy & doesn't forward meds to Sydney.
Hazel:)
