Medicals - Help.

Just sent details to Vic Gov for STNI. Thinking of all the pitfalls
during the long wait. Does anyone have info on family medicals
especially chest x-rays as two of my family have asthma.
Any comments would be welcome.

Re: Medicals - Help.

Wouldn't worry about this. The chest X-ray is primarily checking for TB. All the medicals are doing is checking that you do not have a chronic disease that is very expensive to treat or a contagious disease. TB falls into the latter category and Australia has very low levels of the disease.

Asthma is a chronic condition but not classed as serious or expensive to treat......

By the way, I'm not a doctor but have asthma and emigrated out here a couple of years ago.......

Hi, wouldn't worry. My daughter has asthma and it was barely mentioned at the medical. They are only looking for evidence, past or present of TB.

We were really nervous about all sorts of things before the medicals but they weren't a problem, not worth stressing about at all!
