Question Medicals done - How long now?????

Hi there,

we are new to BritishExpats.com and this is our first post!!!

We have just had our medicals and were wondering how long visa's should be now???

We are planning to move to Brisbane and have been looking at Forest Lake, Spingfield Lakes, etc and wondered if anyone had any experience of the area.

All the very best from a cold, wet (very wet) Staffordshire.

It all depends on when you sent your application in and if you have a case officer.

If you have a case officer and the medicals were requested then I would say 4 weeks from the date they were done. That allows for 1 week for doctor to send, 1 week in the mail and two weeks to get from LCU onto you case officers desk.

In our case we did them before requested, and once they arrived at LCU it took 10 days to match up with our file. Our medicals must have just landed in our filed before or as a case officer was granted. We got a case officer and visa in the same day. Our medicals were done on Nov 6 and we got a visa Dec 2.

If you are a long way from getting a case officer then you will still have to wait until it's your turn to get a case officer.

Hope that gives you a better idea.

we have a co and have had them requested, but I'm not the OP, and we're not in a rush for the visa (house to sell yet!!!) that's why we didn't frontload.

Curly,

As I said in our case it took 10 days from when LCU got it. I think that was pretty quick, I have seen others that took longer.

But I think it's safe to say you could start hoping for it from Jan 18th onwards. Although as you said it could take much longer.

Good luck!

Hi there and welcome. We had our meds requested by our agent in June and we had our Visas granted at the beginning of August. Good luck with the rest of the application.

Hi there,

We've been living in Brissie for 3 months now - don't know the areas you mention but we had our medicals at the end of our process on 8/2/06 and received our visas on 16/3/06 - so shouldn't be long now.

Best of luck.

Can't offer any advice as we aren't that far along yet. Hope you don't have to wait too much longer.
