Medicals

Hi all

bit slow getting this up but just didnt have the motivation to write until now anyway here goes

right X-rays we went to the Murrayfield hospital in Edinburgh and paid £73.50 each. Staff were very nice but did not realise Karen still had her necklace on and did not even mentionjewllery and had to do it again but again no problems
now when we said we had arranged to take x-rays with us they all looked at each other and said that the consultant wasn't in to the afternoon to look at them but they phoned him and he said that he would personally deliver them to the doctors for us which I thought was very considerate.

for the meds we went to MMorning sidepractice just because it got a good rep on here and I fully agree the docs were FABULOUS Very polite and considerate and did not make (me personally) feel awkward no cough test or questions about checking you self for lumps,no extra blood taken for having tattoos etc etc
COST

adults were £105 each
chchildren50 each
postage £10

that was it which I thought was pretty good

any questions please dont hesitate to pm me

OOOhTravelledfrom East Kilbride to Edinburgh simply because Glasgow did not get a good rep an other thread

I've got meds booked for Glasgow on 28th June. I had checked the forum and hadn't noticed any negative feedback on Glasgow

Maybe my search on the forum didn't give the same results.

Can you remember what the negative feedback was?

Thanks,
AL

I was searching on the immigration forum instead of the lifestyle one. DOH!!!

I'll go and read the results from the lifestyle one

Oh dear... from the posts on the lifestyle forum it looks to me like I've made a mistake booking the Glasgow doc.

Problem is we both booked a days holiday well in advance to go and get this done. If only I'd searched the lifestyle forum!!

I would expect the chances of xrays/meds appointment being available in Edinburgh or elsewhere on 28th of June is slim but I think I'll see if anything is available for that date.

Would it be a problem keeping the xray appointment at the Nuffield in Glasgow and just trying to get the medical elsewhere? They give you the xray results to take to the doctor anyway don't they?

Aldebran, We went to Glasgow and found it excellent. X-rays done in morning at Nuffield then over to Shawlands in afternoon. Information was good, doc very pleasant and did her job professionally. I've read posts that docs don't know where to send reports/forms etc. (only small %). Doc in Glasgow took care of all that. Don't worry, you'll be fine and good luck

Thanks framac - that's certainly made me feel more confident about going to the Glasgow doc

One of the posts mentioned that the doc ordered extra tests when they weren't needed. Did you find that or is that maybe just specific to that one case.

Thanks,
AL

Aldebaran, We have our own problems with meds but nothing to do with doc. As the only panel doc in Glasgow she must have covered most if not all instances. She advised us correctly and we went for shortcut. She was right and we were wrong. Cost us time. (Sorry abt delay in replying)
