Is it ok to get a tatoo before getting a medical, to immigrate to Australia? It the medical would be at least 6 months after the tatoo.

Sam has several Tattoos and mentioned at the medical that he was thinking of getting another one. The Medic advised against it, he suggested that due to the HIV risk, a new tattoo constituted a change in medical circumstances and is notifiable :mad: . He therefore decided to wait until he got here to get a new one (which was cheaper than in the UK anyway). If you have not had your medical yet, it does not matter either way as you need a HIV test anyway.

We were asked if we had any tatoos as you also need to have a hepatitis as well as HIV injections if you have any.
You might as well wait until you are here in that case.
