Medical Question
Does anyone, probably Herts people, have any knowledge - good and bad - of the St. Albans set up and the Hitchin place for the medicals. I am closer to St. Albans, but would need two appointments whereas Hitchin is all on the one site and only a few miles further away.
Very small problem to have but if anyone knows something I don't, please let me know. |

Very small problem to have but if anyone knows something I don't, please let me know. We met at the last Hertford Meet and I thought I'd let you know our experiences. We used St. Albans and found them really good, there are five of us, three adults and two children. We saw three different doctors - all of whom were very good. I'm diabetic and apart from contacting my GP for my recent results there was no other problem. We had to attend St.Albans Hospital (five minutes from the doctors) for the x-rays which were easily booked but could be done on a different day ahead of the medicals. St.Albans worked out cheaper than Hitchin - a child aged 14 would be classed as an adult at Hitchin but not at St. Albans. Hope everything goes well whoever you choose. Nessa |

Loopy http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...9&page=1&pp=10 We had ours done a Hitchin - one appt and at a time which suited us - Just does Thursdays for potential emigrants. Good luck - remember it'snot as scary as you think it will be!! Have a bottle of red at home for afterwards to celebrate another step in the process...... or go to the pub!! |
Re: Medical Question
Hi Nessa,
just noticed on your post that you are diabetic. Have you worked out if needles, insulin etc is free. My 10 year old son is also diabetic. I think from what I have seen that his medication would be free, just wondered if you could confirm if I am right. Thanks and good luck Kaz |
Re: Medical Question
Thanks guys.
Nessa, sorry I had forgotten you told me that when we met - brain like sieve! As it's only me needing medical, think I might go with Hitchin if only because I haven't been up there for ages! |
